The ultra-modern Apple Pencil 2 can charge wirelessly from the iPad Pro by attaching to the body of the tablet. Apple's publicity shows an impressive picture, but in the charging process can become quite an issue.

Many cases are designed to cover all the sides of the tablet. That is why Apple Pencil can't always be charged from the iPad Pro. The Speck case maker confirmed to the Cult of Mac its new cases will interfere with the Apple Pencil charging.

Our BalanceFolio and Presidio cases for the new 2018 iPad Pro 11” & 12.9” currently inhibit wireless charging for the Apple Pencil, as do most protective cases on the market. We are designing product updates to provide full usability of the device. New covers compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil will be available at the beginning of 2019.

This is not just the Speck cases problem. All iPad Pro cases should have an Apple Pencil charging since the accessory can't be charged in a different way.
