Apple announced the launch of annual Hour of Code events, where people will learn the basics of coding education for free. In 2018, the event will be held from 1 to 14 December.

Apple has opened a registration for many free Hour of Code sessions which will be available in all Apple Stores around the world. People of any age can participate. For children from 6 to 12 years old, Apple has developed the Kids Hour program, which includes robot-assisted learning. Participants over the age of 12 will be learning the code through Swift on the iPad.

Apple has released a new Hour of Code Facilitator Guide. It will help educators to teach students in regular schools using Swift Playgrounds and other iPad apps.

Apple also introduced the Swift Coding Club, which is designed to teach coding outside of the classroom. People aged 8 and up can use the Swift Coding Club. The course covers the topic of Swift Playgrounds and App Development programming using Swift. 

Apple has been developing programming courses since 2016, when it first launched the Everyone Can Code. This course of study should help students of all ages learn how to code. According to Apple, more than 5,000 schools and colleges use the Everyone Can Code.
