In an interview to CNET, Apple VP of product marketing Greg Joswiak dispelled rumors about weak demand for the iPhone XR, which arose because of reports about the smartphone's production cuts. He said that the “most affordable frameless iPhone” is the company's best-selling phone each and every day since the day it became available.
Sales of the iPhone XR started on October 26, and pre-orders opened a week earlier.
Joswiak did not provide any additional information about the sales of the iPhone XR. This is due to Apple’s statement that it will no longer report unit sales of iPhone, iPad and Mac units, since “these numbers are not an indicator of business success.”
Over the past month, a lot of reports on the slowdown in iPhone sales have appeared on the network. It was also reported that Apple has reduced orders for all models of the iPhone in 2018 due to weak demand for devices. In addition, the corporation lowered the price of the iPhone XR in Japan by $100. Joswiak refused to comment on the aforementioned reports.
He told CNET that Apple will be again supporting World AIDS Day.
The company will donate $1 to the cause for every Apple Pay purchase at an Apple Store, Apple’s Online Store, and in the Apple Store app. In addition, on December 7, in honor of World AIDS Day, the logos in Apple retail stores will turn red.
