The music streaming service accuses Apple of its anti-competitive behavior in the App Store. According to Spotify representatives, Apple Music has advantages over other services in this app store.
"Apple has introduced rules to the App Store that purposely limit choice and stifle innovation at the expense of the user experience," Spotify's founder and CEO Daniel Ek wrote in a blog post.
According to Daniel Ek, they appealed to the European Commission because they could not solve the problem with Apple directly. Moreover, Spotify faces internal limitations in the App Store. Thus, Apple complicates interaction between developers and users of the service and blocks application updates.
To illustrate its complaints about Apple's monopoly policy, Spotify launched a special Time to Play Fair microsite.
